In addition to the migration of families to the south due to wars, official transfers, etc., the Hakka ancestors also came to encourage their descendants to expand outward, establish their own families and businesses, and multiply and migrate; The descendants of the Xie families (Chia) are no exception. In order to share benefits, unite clansmen, promote cooperation and enhance clan ties, the Hakka Chia clan members living in Singapore registered the "Singapore Nanyang Khek Community Pow Soo Association" in 1957 (now called Chia Pow Soo Hakka Clan Association), and it has been more than 60 years since then.
To sum up, over the past 60 years, the Hakka Chia Clan Association has kept pace with the times and has made efforts in maintaining the traditional Spring and Autumn ancestral ceremonies, mutual assistance and welfare among members, and in cultural education. At the same time, the Association has also expanded the scope of the association's mission and increased & improved many of its activities.
Moving onto the 21st century, the Association joined the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations as a member. With the concerted efforts of the Association’s directors and members, many more activities were added. On May 7, 2017, the Association’s 60th Anniversary Celebration and on September 25, 2022, the Association’s 65th Anniversary Luncheon Ceremony were held. At the same time, magazines commemorating the 60th and 65th anniversaries are published to mark the occasion and look forward to the future. The Clan hopes that all members can be more united and strive to make more contributions to the country, society and the people.
